Asparagine biosynthesis (WP67)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
The precursor to asparagine is oxaloacetate, which the AAT enzyme converts to aspartate by transferring the amino group from glutamate to oxaloacetate, producing α-ketoglutarate and aspartate.
