Description

Methylation of NR3C1 gene regulatory sequence was found in individuals that commited suicide and in rats that were treated badly at young age. Higher methylation and and lower glucocortoid receptor expression was confirmed in humans with a "bad youth". See McGowan et al. in Nat Neurosci. 2009.
